Mental Health Coordinator (LPC / LCSW / LMFT)
Location:
Milan, NM 87021 Job Summary We are seeking a licensed and experienced Mental Health Coordinator to join our team in Milan, New Mexico. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services within a correctional healthcare setting by conducting clinical assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, providing counseling and crisis intervention, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically skilled, and committed to delivering high-quality behavioral health services while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Conduct mental health screenings and comprehensive clinical assessments through record reviews and face-to-face interviews. Develop, implement, monitor, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and level of functioning. Provide individual counseling, therapeutic interventions, and crisis management services. Perform mental health evaluations and make appropriate clinical recommendations. Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the patient's healthcare record. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. Utilize evidence-based counseling techniques and psychological principles to support patient care. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, correctional staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Respond appropriately to psychiatric emergencies and behavioral health crises. Perform all duties in accordance with facility policies, professional standards, and applicable regulations. Required Qualifications Education Master's degree from an accredited college or university in: Social Work Psychology Mental Health Counseling Or another related clinical behavioral health discipline Experience Minimum of five (5) years of clinical mental health experience. At least two (2) years of experience in a comparable clinical position. Licensure Candidates must possess a current, unrestricted license in the state of New Mexico as one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Additional Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license preferred unless otherwise required by contract or applicable law. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Required Skills Mental health assessment and diagnosis Individual counseling and psychotherapy Crisis intervention and de-escalation Treatment planning and case management Clinical documentation Behavioral health evaluation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient confidentiality Work Environment This position is located within a correctional healthcare facility. The Mental Health Coordinator will work closely with healthcare providers and correctional staff to deliver high-quality behavioral health services while maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.
