Under general supervision, the Clinical Staff position plays a key role in supporting and coordinating clinical operations for the Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics/MBA (AEODO/MBA) Residency Program clinic. This role performs a broad range of clinical, administrative, and program support functions, working closely with College of Dental Medicine faculty, residents, and administrative and clinical staff to ensure efficient, high‑quality clinic operations. The position reports directly to the Clinic Manager. Essential Functions:
Coordinate and manage day‑to‑day clinic operations, including scheduling, patient flow, and resolution of scheduling conflicts in collaboration with faculty, residents, interns, and staff. Serve as the primary point of contact for clinic communications, answering calls, greeting patients, and directing inquiries to appropriate individuals. Manage clinic scheduling systems and patient records, including entering, updating, and maintaining confidential data in practice management and imaging software. Develop, implement, and maintain clinic scheduling protocols, policies, and procedures to support efficient clinical operations. Oversee clinic supplies, equipment, and facilities, including ordering and stocking supplies, coordinating equipment maintenance, and ensuring readiness for clinic operations and events. Ensure compliance with quality assurance, HIPAA, and OSHA standards, including monitoring processes and coordinating implementation as needed. Support clinical and imaging functions, including assisting with imaging scans, image management, equipment cleaning and sterilization, chairside assistance, and coordination with IT for imaging systems and data management. Provide administrative support for program operations, including assisting with clinic‑related events, patient recruiting efforts, coordination with prospective faculty/residents/vendors, and review of billing statements for accuracy. Qualifications:
Some knowledge and experience in dentistry is preferred. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education is minimally required to be eligible for this position.
