Job Description:
The Clinical Manager for Roseman Medical Group provides clinical leadership and direct patient care support within an academic ambulatory environment serving family medicine and pediatric populations. This role is accountable for high-quality, patient-centered care, promoting a culture of safety, while supporting interprofessional education aligned with the mission of Roseman University of Health Sciences. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Clinical Manager serves as the primary clinical resource for real-time patient care coordination, including management of medical advice calls and triage during business hours. The Clinical Manager is also expected to actively support clinical operations by stepping into direct patient care activities as needed to maintain efficient clinic flow. The Clinical Manager partners closely with the Medical Director and Office Manager in a collaborative leadership model to optimize clinical workflows, improve patient outcomes, and support provider, staff, and learner engagement. Essential Functions Clinical Leadership and Quality Provides oversight and accountability of clinical operations to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care. Develops, implements, and maintains clinical policies, protocols, and standardized workflows. Monitors clinical quality metrics and analyzes performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards. Oversees vaccine management programs, including pediatric immunization compliance Clinical Triage and Patient Care Coordination Serves as the primary clinical lead for medical advice calls and triage operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and patient-centered responses. Performs nursing triage using standardized protocols and independent clinical judgment to determine appropriate levels of care. Coordinates same-day access and urgent patient needs in collaboration with providers and front office staff Develops and maintains triage protocols and workflows for medical assistants and clinic staff Provides clinical guidance and escalation support to staff handling patient communications Direct Patient Care Support Actively participates in clinical care delivery as needed to support clinic operations, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, administering medications and vaccines, and assisting with procedures within scope of practice Provides real-time support during periods of high patient volume, staff shortages, or workflow disruption Models efficient, patient-centered clinical workflows and teamwork for staff and learners Ensures continuity of care and patient safety during operational surges Staff Supervision and Development Provides direct clinical oversight, training, and competency assessment for medical assistants and other clinical support staff Ensures adherence to clinical standards for rooming, vital signs, documentation, and patient communication Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed Collaborates with the Office Manager on staffing models, scheduling, and daily coverage needs Clinical Operations and Workflow Optimization Leads development and optimization of clinical workflows, including triage, rooming, medication administration, and care coordination Partners with the Office Manager to improve clinic throughput, patient flow, and access to care Supports implementation and optimization of the electronic health record (EHR) for clinical efficiency and documentation quality Participates in space planning, equipment selection, and supply management for clinical areas Academic and Educational Support Supports clinical teaching activities for students, residents, and other learners in coordination with faculty and academic leadership Ensures clinical workflows align with educational objectives while maintaining patient care efficiency Promotes an environment of interprofessional collaboration and learning Collaboration and Leadership Serves as a key member of the clinic leadership team in partnership with the Medical Director and Office Manager Participates in regular operations meetings and contributes to strategic planning and program development Fosters a positive, team-based culture that emphasizes accountability, communication, and continuous improvement Requirements Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nevada Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care, family medicine, pediatrics, or related setting Experience with clinical triage, telephone advice, or care coordination in an outpatient setting Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience Preferred Qualifications Experience in an academic medical or teaching clinic environment Familiarity with triage protocols and decision-support tools (e.g., Schmitt-Thompson protocols or equivalent) Experience with quality improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA cycles, Lean principles) Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic or similar) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Individual must possess the knowledge and following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities: Strong clinical judgment, particularly in ambulatory triage, risk assessment and escalation decision-making. Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with direct clinical support responsibilities in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent communication skills, including patient counseling and telephone triage. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to real-time clinical and operational demands.
