Company Information The Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 2 NY Joint Benefit Funds consist of three (3) Taft-Hartley, multi-employer, benefit plans, including health, pension and annuity. The Funds provide benefits for more than 1,200 active and retired participants and cover union construction workers in Upstate New York and Vermont. Job Overview The Health Coordinator's position is responsible for overseeing a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA.) This is an employer-funded account designed to assist participants in paying for certain out-of-pocket medical expenses. In addition, the position manages health insurance enrollments, eligibility changes and terminations using an on-line system with multiple insurance carriers. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, full medical, vision, dental & prescription coverage, defined benefit & defined contribution retirement plans. This is a small office with a relaxed atmosphere that functions with a team concept. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and professional, have proficient computer skills, and should work well both independently and as part of our team. All employees have their own office, no cubicles and on the job training will be provided. Responsibilities and Duties
- Process Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) claim requests, ensuring expenses are qualified and proper documentation is provided.
- Manage enrollments, eligibility updates, plan changes and COBRA notices.
- Maintain accurate participant and dependent eligibility records.
- Reports to and communicates with appropriate vendors.
- Assist in delivering clear and concise communication materials to participants regarding health plan updates and changes.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure accuracy of health plan data and compliance with IRS and Plan rules.
- Must be organized and able to work on your own.
- Answer participant inquiries regarding eligible Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) expenses, account balances, and claims status via phone, email and in person.
- Assist the office staff with member mailings and other duties as assigned.
- Communicate on a regular basis with the Fund Administrator. Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Labor Union experience is helpful, not mandatory.
- General office experience in which the candidate can demonstrate dependability, attention to detail, able to work independently and interact effectively with others, strong communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Consistent and punctual attendance required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Computer literate with ability to learn new applications and systems.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
