About the Role We're looking for a dedicated Clinical Manager to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our administrative team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Clinical Manager, Respiratory Services is responsible for all aspects of respiratory care including, but not limited to: respiratory therapies, oxygen therapy, ventilator management, pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas, and bronchoscopy. In collaboration with the clinical leadership, is responsible for the planning and development of services responsive to the needs of the community served, the hospital, and the system. What You'll Do Operations :
Prioritizes, monitors and controls department activities and resources utilization to maximize productivity. Assists in developing and implementing departmental goals and objective, consistent with the hospital mission, vision, core values, principles and long-range, strategic and operational plans. Evaluates and recommends purchase, installation, and maintenance of department equipment and technology. Assists in planning, development, and organization of departmental policies and procedures assuring their appropriateness for the patients served. Assists in the oversight of contracts and agreements related to the provision of respiratory and pulmonary services including professional service contracts. Leadership & Management :
Completes tasks and initiatives related to workforce management including recruitment, retention, scheduling, performance management, and professional development. Develops and maintains excellence in employee relations, striving to instill a sense of urgency, common purpose and teamwork with intended end results of employee satisfaction and enhancement of staff effectiveness. Fosters an environment conducive to the innovation of prevention, diagnosis, management and rehabilitation of pulmonary disease consistent with organizational direction. Projects and maintains an excellent personal and professional image through coaching, mentoring, acting as a role model and participating in activities which enhance professional growth. Quality and Service:
Consistent with organizational direction and in collaboration with CNO, coordinates development and implementation of a Customer Satisfaction Plan to includes identification of primary and secondary customers, definition of customer expectations, and establishment of key performance metrics. Works with physician stakeholders to develop, implement, monitor, communicate and ensure an effective continuous quality improvement program, which incorporates technical and professional aspects of all services provided and documents performance against established benchmarks. Assists in developing innovative approaches to marketing of respiratory and pulmonary services designed to focus on unique hospital and physician capabilities while supporting the established organizational and system-level brand image. Fiscal Management:
Assists with development of departmental budgets and monitors financial performance to achieve optimum reimbursement. Coordinates and maintains necessary accreditations. Consults with leadership, fiscal, and other partners regarding patient charges, medical necessity, and medical coding within the department. Regulatory and Corporate Compliance:
In collaboration with Laboratory Services, maintains department compliance with New York State Department of Health, College of American Pathologists, and other relevant regulatory agencies for the arterial blood gas laboratory. Responsible for monitoring and responding to FDA-regulated medical device tracking, alerts, and recalls. Understands and implements - in consult with CNO, Quality, and related partners - programs and systems that meet regulatory compliance and assure safety standards. Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence Perform administrative responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community What You Bring Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Graduate of AMA approved program of education for Registered Respiratory Therapist. Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity. Significant clinical experience in respiratory therapy required. Possess RRT credential as offered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Employees hired prior to 2004 are required to obtain BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certification by December 31, 2006. Employees hired after January 1, 2005 are required to obtain BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certification within one year of hire date.
