Job Description

Overview The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing first aid, emergency medical care, and health support services to campers and staff throughout the camp season. The EMT works closely with camp leadership to maintain a safe and healthy environment, respond to medical incidents, manage health records, and promote wellness practices across the camp community. Responsibilities Provide immediate assessment, first aid, and emergency medical care for injuries and illnesses. Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with local EMS, hospitals, and emergency services when necessary. Maintain and organize the camp health center, medical supplies, and emergency equipment. Administer medications according to camp policies and physician instructions. Review and maintain confidential camper and staff health records. Monitor campers with chronic medical conditions, allergies, or special healthcare needs. Document all medical visits, treatments, incidents, and follow-up care. Assist in developing and implementing emergency response procedures. Educate campers and staff on health, safety, and injury prevention practices. Participate in staff orientation, training, and emergency preparedness drills. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, camp leadership, and healthcare providers as needed. Qualifications Current EMT certification in the applicable state. Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience working with children, adolescents, or in outdoor/recreational settings preferred. Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies. Knowledge of camp health regulations and medication administration practices is a plus.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
