WNY Shift Details:
Mon-Fri Days working in the Breast Surgery Center in our Williamsville office.
Job Summary:
As a Patient Care Coordinator you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the center. You will support the physicians and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Duties/Responsibilities:
(95%) Patient Care Interviews and assesses patients and document basic medical history Organize and schedule office appointments Coordinate referrals including but not limited to schedule referral appointments for patients with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and plastic surgery specialists. Manage surgery scheduling including but not limited to arranging surgical procedures for patients at the designated hospital. Triage phone calls Update and file medical records and insurance reports as applicable Prepare Charts including but not limited to completing chart preparation tasks for the surgeon. Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services as applicable Check with patients and type of patient charts and other pertinent information Assist during medical examinations and procedures Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments Obtain Authorizations including but not limited to securing necessary authorizations for surgical procedures and radiology services. Handle Documentation including but not limited to prepare and process disability and FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) forms for patients (5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least one (1) year of medical assistant experience or medical secretary experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Physical Requirements:
Basic lifting: up to 30 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions. Requires the use of office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, telephones, and copiers Requires computer-related activities for extended periods Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, write, and key Windsong Radiology is an equal employment opportunity employer.
