About the Role We are seeking an experienced, friendly, dependable, and patient-focused Patient Care Specialist to join our team! Work Environment In-office only (no remote work), floating between locations as needed/scheduled
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30 M, T, Th; 8:00am-5:00pm W, 7:00am-3:00pm
Fri Location:
Primary office in Amherst, OH , secondary location in North Olmsted, OH with occasional travel to surrounding regional office in Sandusky on an as-needed basis.
Employment:
Hourly, full-time, non-exempt. Key Responsibilities Maintain a welcoming, professional, and compassionate front-desk presence Answer phone calls, emails, and text inquiries from patients Handle patient questions and direct clinical concerns to appropriate staff Register new patients and update existing patient demographics in the EMR Confirm patient identity and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments Check patients in and out for appointments Verify medical insurance eligibility Educate patients on their insurance benefits, coverage, and estimated out-of-pocket expenses Collect copayments, deductibles, and balances due; provide receipts as needed Room patients in appropriate clinician area Reconcile daily payments and assist with end-of-day reporting Assist with forms completion and provide necessary paperwork to patients Scan and upload documents into the EMR Communicate appointment reminders via phone, text, or email Support clinical staff by ensuring exam rooms and schedules are prepared Perform general office tasks including typing, printing, scanning, faxing, and emailing Utilize Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Participate in training or process improvement initiatives as assigned Additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma and/or GED; Additional schooling, certifications in medical, medical billing, healthcare administration, etc. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Operational knowledge of office equipment:
printers, scanners, fax, copier Ability to learn new software/technology Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Preferred Skills & Characteristics Familiarity with medical terminology

Compensation & Benefits:
