We are seeking a Practice Development Director to join our team in our Cincinnati, OH office. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Practice Development Director is responsible for and leads all practice development aspects of their assigned industry group, under the direction of the Industry Group Leader and Chief Business Development Officer, including industry-specific business development, marketing, and training for attorneys and non-attorney timekeepers in the industry group. This person also serves as a liaison between the industry group and the Chief Officers of Talent, Human Resources, and their designees to support the overall growth of the Industry Group's business and the professional/practice development of its individual timekeepers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the growth of the overall business of the Industry Group by supporting and developing its lines of business and timekeepers; Identify, create, and implement strategic initiatives, practice integration measures, industry-specific trainings and events, and business development activities for the Industry Group and its affiliated subsidiaries; Elevate, empower and enable the effective professional/practice development of all timekeepers assigned to industry group; Minimize the administrative burden on and maximize the revenue producing capabilities of timekeepers across PSIG; Support and enhance the work of other operational and attorney leaders within the industry group; Identify opportunities for growth (including affiliated service lines) and improvement in the business operations of the Industry Group and implement measures accordingly; Establish and maintain positive relations with professional trade associations and organizations to enhance the external visibility of the Industry Group and grow its business; Manage pitch, proposal, and RFP responses to ensure appropriate content and timely submission; Manage the publication of professional content and advertising by the Industry Group and its Practice Groups and affiliated lines of business; Manage expenses and seek efficiencies within the Industry Group's professional and practice development budget; Optimize cost effectiveness and profitability of the Industry Group in relation to its professional and practice development budget; Provide leadership, vision and innovation on all aspects of the Industry Group's business development and marketing matters; Incorporate all components of the Firm's Strategic Plan into the operations of the Industry Group; Manage and/or assist a team of business and practice development professionals in fulfilling the duties and requirements of this position; Attend Industry Group, Practice Group, and affiliated subsidiaries' meetings and events Travel to/from Firm offices and Industry Group-related functions and events; Demonstrate appropriate professional judgment in the performance of all job duties. This position works closely with the Industry Group Leader, Practice Group Leaders, Industry Group Management Team, Firm Market Leaders, the Firm's Senior Leadership Team and other practice development directors across the Firm in performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position. Bachelor's degree required with additional post-degree education desired Five years of professional services firm experience preferred Legal industry experience preferred Involvement in industry and community organizations REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Demonstrated understanding of the operation of a law firm or professional service business. Strong working knowledge and past experience leading teams in areas including but not limited to business development/marketing, human resources, professional talent, and training. Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze and make recommendations regarding budget, cost, and strategic development decisions. Experience and training in cultural awareness and integration with operations and the work experience. Demonstrated history of successful process and project creation and management. Ability to develop, lead, inspire, provide strategic direction to, and hold accountable team members. Innovative and strategic thinking to bring new and creative ideas to the Industry Group and its affiliated subsidiaries and to encourage innovation by other team members. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to details. Ability to work well, individually and in teams, with a diverse group of people at all levels of the Firm. Ability to bring and manage meaningful change and participate in process improvement and project management initiatives. Ability to drive and travel to/from various Firm offices and Industry Group events using own transportation Ability to create and share content using various technology platforms, including all Microsoft products, iManage, Sharefile, and LinkedIn Disclaimer:
