Department:
School of Nursing Job Summary Leads the operational coordination of undergraduate nursing clinical placements across the traditional, evening/weekend, and accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs. Responsible for managing complex clinical placement processes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and serves as a key liaison between the School of Nursing (SON) and regional healthcare partners. Oversees clinical scheduling operations, support compliance, and placement requests, and maintains collaborative partnerships with healthcare organizations to ensure high-quality clinical learning experiences. Requires strong organizational, project management, communication, and technology skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities, analyze operational needs, and proactively resolve issues impacting students, faculty, and clinical partners. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in nursing, healthcare administration, business operations, public administration, education, or related field from an accredited institution. Experience in business operations, project management, academic administration, healthcare operations, or program coordination. Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with fixed deadlines and high accountability. Experience with databases, scheduling or placement systems, and Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced). Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the CSU's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in nursing, nursing education, healthcare administration, or a related field. Eligibility for or possession of an active, unrestricted Ohio nursing license. Experience coordinating clinical placements, internships, practica, or field experiences in higher education or healthcare settings. Experience working with large undergraduate or professional programs. Experience with nursing curriculum development and teaching in a baccalaureate nursing program. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of clinical education, experiential learning, or academic operations higher education or healthcare environments. Knowledge of healthcare systems, organizational structures, and clinical operations across acute care, ambulatory, and community-based settings. Knowledge of accreditation, regulatory, and compliance requirements related to clinical education student placements. Skills in coordinating complex schedules, operational workflows, and competing priories across multiple programs and academic timelines. Strong customer service and relationship management skills, with the ability to build collaborative partnerships, manage expectations, and resolve issues effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, maintain documentation, and deliver professional communications and presentations. Ability to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously while meeting established deadlines and maintaining accuracy. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and problem-solving in situations involving competing priorities or incomplete information. Ability to analyze operational information, identify process gaps or risks, and recommend or implement appropriate solutions. Ability to communicate effectively across departments and organizational boundaries within an urban public university environment. Proficient with technology and data management systems, including clinical placement platforms and enterprise applications. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
