Clinical Director Highlife Recovery, LLC Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $95,000 a year 22 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Employee assistance program 401(k) matching Professional development assistance Flexible schedule Qualifications Program management Program development Administrative experience Team development Clinical documentation Full Job Description Position Overview The Clinical Director serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, supporting counselors and case managers, monitoring documentation quality, assisting with authorization and payer requirements, and helping ensure that clients receive appropriate and coordinated care. This position requires strong clinical judgment, administrative capability, leadership skills, and the ability to balance staff support, regulatory compliance, documentation standards, and operational needs. Primary Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and oversight for outpatient SUD and mental health services. Supervise, support, and guide clinical staff, including counselors, case managers, and other treatment team members. Review clinical documentation for quality, timeliness, medical necessity, and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. Assist with the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, workflows, and documentation standards. Support prior authorization processes, including ensuring clinical documentation supports requested levels of care and continued stay criteria. Participate in clinical staffing, treatment planning, case consultation, and care coordination. Assist with ensuring services meet applicable Medicaid, OhioMHAS, CARF, and payer requirements. Monitor client care concerns, clinical risk issues, incidents, and staff performance concerns. Train and coach staff on documentation, ASAM criteria, treatment planning, discharge planning, and clinical best practices. Coordinate with leadership regarding program development, staffing needs, compliance concerns, and operational improvements. Assist with audits, chart reviews, corrective action plans, and quality improvement initiatives. Support a professional, ethical, and client-centered treatment environment. Preferred Qualifications Active Ohio licensure as an LPC, LISW, LICDC, or higher. Prior experience in substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment. Experience in a clinical leadership, supervisory, or program management role preferred. Knowledge of Medicaid documentation requirements, medical necessity, ASAM criteria, and prior authorization processes. Strong understanding of outpatient levels of care, including IOP, OP, case management, and individual counseling. Ability to provide clinical guidance while also managing administrative and operational responsibilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to review charts, identify documentation concerns, and provide clear feedback to staff. Organized, dependable, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical and administrative environment. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is clinically experienced, administratively capable, and comfortable operating as both a supervisor and a problem solver. This person should be able to support staff, communicate clearly with leadership, understand payer and documentation requirements, and help maintain a high-quality clinical program. This role is a good fit for someone who can combine clinical judgment with practical operational follow-through.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
