Job Description
Clinical Specialist Job Overview Aspire Mobility is a certified rehabilitation provider based in Columbus, OH, dedicated to providing custom rehab and mobility solutions to individuals facing mobility challenges. Our mission is to deliver best-in-class service by assembling a team of professionals who believe in service-based care over quantity. We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Clinical Specialist to join our team. This is not a sales role — it is a patient-centered care role. You will serve as a trusted expert and primary point of contact for patients throughout their entire custom mobility equipment journey — from initial evaluation through final delivery. You will work closely with patients and their clinical teams to assess needs, build and configure the right equipment, navigate funding, and secure prior authorizations, ensuring every individual receives a solution tailored specifically to them. What You'll Do Schedule and coordinate in-person evaluations, serving as the patient's primary advocate from first contact through equipment delivery Conduct hands-on evaluations alongside the patient's clinical team to assess mobility needs and identify the most appropriate equipment solution Configure and customize mobility equipment to match each patient's unique clinical, functional, and lifestyle requirements Apply technical expertise to assemble and fit equipment to exact specifications, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal performance Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to develop thorough clinical justifications that support prior authorization requests Navigate the funding and insurance approval process, managing documentation and communications to secure timely authorization Guide patients and caregivers through each step of the process, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and confident in their care Manage the full order lifecycle — from scheduling, evaluation and custom configuration to insurance submission, approval, and final delivery Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and clinical partners rooted in trust and quality of care Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, funding status, and account activity What We're Looking For Background in physical therapy (PT/PTA) or occupational therapy (OT/COTA), or a related clinical field strongly preferred Hands-on technical aptitude with the ability to configure, assemble, and fit custom mobility equipment to clinical specifications Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to both clinical and non-clinical audiences Familiarity with prior authorization, insurance funding, or DME reimbursement processes is a strong plus Compassionate, patient-centered approach with the ability to build trust with individuals facing mobility challenges Ability to work collaboratively with therapists, physicians, and other members of the clinical team Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously across varying stages of the care journey Knowledge of complex rehab technology (CRT), wheelchair configuration, or assistive technology highly desirable
