Days (United States of America) Summary of Primary Function Under the direction of the Manager, Medical Staff Services, the Credentialing Coordinator is a resource regarding practitioner competency (credentialing and privileging), accreditation, regulatory, and internal compliance, legal principles of credentialing, and implementation and development of credentialing and privileging systems. Organizes the development and implementation of a comprehensive and specialized credentialing and privileging program to assure continued Joint Commission/CMS standards.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for all aspects of the initial application, reappointment, and privileging process for Medical and Allied Health (AHP) staff once the Credentialing Verification Organization has completed the Primary Source Verifications. Obtains provider-specific credentialing, quality, and privileging data and presents to the Medical Staff Leadership for action. Provides reports (from Medical and AHP staff data) to SRMC Administration, Medical Staff leadership, and Medical Center staff upon request. Assists in developing and maintaining credentialing and privileging forms and processes. Performs delegated credentialing, initial and reappointment, for all delegated credentialing arrangements. Prepares agenda, minutes, and correspondence for the Chairman of the Credentials Committee Prepares agenda, minutes, and correspondence for Division Chiefs of assigned Medical Staff meetings. Verifies and tracks certification expirations and updates the database as appropriate. Prepares and presents data for completion of Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) as it relates to the maintaining of privileging for the Medical and Allied Health staff. This data is presented to Medical Staff leadership for action. Maintains accurate database of all Medical and AHP staff members' privileges and profile information. Prepares and facilitates provider orientations for the new non-employed providers. Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education:

Year/ Associates Degree Licensure/Certification Required:
CPCS Certification or ability to gain CPCS within one year of eligibility.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience:
3 - 5 Years of office experience
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Medical terminology and advanced computer skills. Must possess sound critical thinking and acute attention to detail. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Internet/intranet, ability to access the internet and research relevant material as it relates to the current job.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
