  • Full-time Position summary: The surgical patient care coordinator is responsible for managing the adminstrative and clinical preparation of patients undergoing surgical procedures.
This role serves as a key liaison between patients, surgeons, clinical staff and external facilities to ensure a smooth and informed surgical experience. The coordinator plays a critical role in gathering medical histories, preparing preoperative documentation, scheduling procedures, and ensuring all requirements are met prior to surgery.
Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct preoperative assessments including reviewing medical histories, allergies, and current medications.
  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with patients, providers, hospitals and surgical centers.
  • Ensure all pre-op testing (labs, imaging, clearances) are ordered, completed and documented.
  • Provide patients with detailed pre-op and post operative instructions and answer any related questions.
  • Maintain communication with surgeons and clinical teams regarding patient readiness.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding documentation, consents, and test results.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA and privacy regulations.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.
  • Obtain necessary referrals for procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer minimum of 2 year experiences in a surgical dental or healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
