The Opportunity:
Maslow Project is seeking a dedicated, resilient, and people-centered Staff Supervisor to lead our passionate team of case managers and outreach workers. As a key mid-level manager, you will guide our frontline staff in providing critical support to youth and families experiencing housing instability across Jackson or Josephine County. You will be the bridge between our frontline team and organizational leadership — a coach, a problem-solver, and a steady presence ensuring our team has the support and resources they need to achieve our mission: ending youth homelessness sooner.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Lead a team of case managers and outreach staff, managing schedules, delegating tasks, and organizing workflows to ensure effective service delivery.
- Establish clear performance goals and deadlines aligned with Maslow Project's objectives, holding the team accountable for meeting outcomes with fidelity and care.
- Continuously assess employee performance, providing timely coaching and constructive feedback to foster growth.
Prepare and deliver performance reports to leadership.
Staff Development & Onboarding:
- Screen, assess, and onboard new team members, ensuring they are fully oriented to Maslow Project's policies, procedures, and values.
- In collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor and Program Directors, identify and facilitate ongoing training opportunities to foster a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence.
Operational & Compliance Oversight:
- Serve as the primary communication link between your team and senior management, ensuring clear information flow and that frontline feedback informs decision-making.
- Maintain and oversee team systems, including timekeeping, case documentation standards, and data quality, to ensure all reporting and HR requirements are met with accuracy.
- Uphold all safety policies and procedures, fostering a positive, inclusive, and resilient workplace culture grounded in our values.
Community & Agency Liaison:
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with community partners and agencies to ensure a coordinated, wrap-around approach for the youth and families we serve.
- Serve as a liaison with the Agency Management Team as needed, representing your team and program effectively.
- Act as a key ambassador for the Maslow Project, modeling and ensuring you and your team consistently uphold the agency's reputation, customer service standards, values, and professional etiquette in all internal and external interactions. What You'll Bring (Required Qualifications):
Proven Leadership Experience:
Demonstrated experience in supervising, coaching, or mentoring staff in a human services or related field. You know how to motivate a team and hold them accountable with clarity and consistency.
Regulatory & HR Knowledge:
A working knowledge of Oregon's employee practices and regulatory guidance is required. You have proven experience in performance management and staff oversight best practices.
Industry Expertise:
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices that support youth and families in a social services context. Experience in youth services, case management, or homelessness programming is strongly preferred .
Exceptional Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse team, leadership, and external partners.
Organizational Excellence:
You are highly organized, deadline-driven, and adept at managing multiple priorities—schedules, performance timelines, and documentation—without dropping the ball.
Resilience & Adaptability:
You remain calm under pressure, resolve conflicts thoughtfully, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, modeling resilience for your team.
- Ability to immediately pass a drug screen (includes cannabis); criminal background check; must have an active valid Oregon Driver's license - or ability to get one in the required timeframe if relocating; and hold personal auto insurance.
- A bachelor's degree in social work, nonprofit management, or a related field is a plus, but we will always consider proven equivalent work experience and demonstrated leadership.
