Job Description

Kartini Clinic, an innovative pediatric eating disorder treatment program in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Patient Intake Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary team. At Kartini Clinic, our mission to help children and families is supported by a collaborative team of medical, nursing, therapy, and administrative professionals who work together to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. The intake process is one of the most important parts of a family's experience with our clinic and the Patient Intake Coordinator is often the very first person families speak with when seeking help for a child in crisis. This role requires professionalism, empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain organized in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The person in this position has the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families every single day. The Patient Intake Coordinator is responsible for coordinating incoming patient referrals, conducting intake calls, gathering and processing required patient information, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate documentation, and communicating with families and referring providers in a compassionate and efficient manner. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, adaptable, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a calm and supportive presence with families and team members alike. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a medical, behavioral health, or healthcare office setting Experience with patient intake, scheduling, registration, or care coordination Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service and active listening abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
