This is a unique opportunity for an experienced ophthalmic professional who enjoys both patient care and practice operations. The ideal candidate will work as a technician during clinic hours while helping oversee the administrative, operational, and financial functions of a growing retina practice. We are seeking a long-term team member who is dependable, proactive, solutions-oriented, and committed to helping our practice deliver exceptional patient care. About the Role This position combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with leadership and administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the practice leadership team and help drive operational excellence, patient satisfaction, staff development, and practice growth. Clinical Responsibilities Assist physician with patient care and clinic flow Perform ophthalmic testing, including OCT and retinal imaging Serve as a medical scribe when needed Prepare patient charts and review records Support intravitreal injection visits and retina procedures Assist with patient education and follow-up Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities Assist with hiring, onboarding, and staff training Manage staff schedules and coverage Oversee inventory, supplies, and vendor relationships Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction and service Maintain office policies and procedures Assist with compliance and quality initiatives Revenue Cycle & Insurance Responsibilities Prior authorization oversight Insurance verification and benefits coordination Billing and coding review Denial management and appeals Accounts receivable oversight Copay assistance and patient assistance programs Marketing & Growth Responsibilities Referring physician relationship management Website and Google Business Profile / AI search coordination Patient engagement and community outreach initiatives Practice growth projects Qualifications Minimum 5 years of ophthalmology experience (including >2 years of Retina experience) required Strong working knowledge of Retina diseases and treatments Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience with prior authorizations and insurance processes preferred Medical billing or revenue cycle experience preferred Strong understanding of ophthalmic workflow and patient care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively with staff and physicians What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is: Reliable and accountable Friendly and professional Positive and team-oriented Detail-oriented and highly organized Comfortable managing multiple priorities Interested in building a long-term career with our practice Excited to help shape the future growth of the organization Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Full-time position Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Leadership role within a growing retina practice Why Join Main Line Retina?
