Our multidisciplinary clinic provides evidence-based individual therapy, medication management, and psychological testing . To further our commitment to clinical excellence and expand our community reach, we are pursuing our initial Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CARF Accreditation Consultant for a contract-based engagement. You will evaluate our current operations, identify regulatory gaps, and guide our administrative and clinical teams through the entire accreditation process. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successfully preparing outpatient behavioral health clinics for CARF surveys.
Key Responsibilities Gap Analysis:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of our current clinical documentation, billing practices, facility safety, and operational workflows against current CARF behavioral health standards.
Policy Development:
Draft, refine, and implement CARF-compliant policies, procedures, and plans (including cultural competency, risk management, and quality improvement plans).
Staff Training:
Educate clinical providers (therapists, prescribers, and psychologists) and administrative staff on CARF standards, chart compliance, and peer-review protocols.
Mock Survey:
Lead a rigorous mock survey and interview preparation sessions to ensure the team is confident and ready for the official site visit.
Survey Support:
Assist leadership with the official application submission and provide remote or on-site support during the actual CARF survey.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of experience preparing healthcare organizations for CARF accreditation, specifically within outpatient mental health or behavioral health settings.
Niche Knowledge:
Deep understanding of CARF standards across multi-service clinics offering therapy, medication management, and psychological testing.
Project Management:
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to build a realistic timeline, assign benchmarks, and keep leadership on track.
Preferred:
Active or former CARF Surveyor status is highly preferred.
