Claims and Reinsurance Coordinator, Medical Malpractice (Hybrid) Illinois Health and Hospital Association United States, Illinois, Naperville 1151 East Warrenville Road (Show on map) Apr 02, 2026
Main Function:
Responsible for the coordination and reporting of medical professional and general liability claims to excess insurers and reinsurers on behalf of Illinois Risk Management Services.
Outline of Responsibilities:
Draft and submit initial and supplemental claim notices to excess carriers and reinsurers in accordance with policy requirements. Identify claims to be reported to excess carriers and reinsurers in conjunction with Claims and Litigation Supervisor. Work with Claims and Litigation Supervisor to draft and submit claim updates as necessary including trial dates, demands, reserve increase or other substantive developments. Manage and maintain reports and claims tracking tools to manage deadline dates to ensure all necessary claims have been initially reported and maintain claim acknowledgements and correspondence. Assist with management of excess and reinsurance market relationships including attending meetings as necessary and responding to information requests. Provide response to various litigation and trial related inquiries. Manage loss run requests. Assist with managing claims including processing correspondence, deposition assists, and audits. Other duties and projects as defined.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education. Professional liability and medical malpractice claims experience preferred. Excellent organizational skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must possess analytical and critical thinking skills and be a team player who can manage multiple projects. Pay Range:
$63,394 to $95,090 annually, actual compensation is dependent on job-related factors such as experience, education, skills and qualifications for the role. IHA offers a full range of benefit programs based on eligibility. Click here to review our Benefit Summary
