Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Medical Staff Affairs Coordinator !

Hybrid Remote in Williamsburg Overview The Medical Staff Affairs Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all administrative and operational activities associated with the medical staff of the hospital. This includes managing credentialing, privileging, and other compliance-related processes, as well as maintaining medical staff records and ensuring the hospital's adherence to industry standards and regulations. The Medical Staff Coordinator has the responsibility for the assigned hospitals, medical staff and its committees, services to ensure compliance with the governing documents and the state and federal requirements and applicable accreditation standards. Each Medical Staff Coordinator is the subject matter expert for his/her facility in the areas of medical staff governing documents and policies, privileging practices, and accreditation and regulatory issues. Facilitates all aspects of credentialing, including appointment, reappointment and privileging for the medical staff. Represents administrative issues successfully to influence collaboration between physicians and hospital management. Interacts with Quality management/Peer Review and physicians to use relevant data to enable identification of practitioners who may not meet the standard of care for the hospital. Manages communications of the organized medical staff. Collaborates with other Medical Staff Offices and the Credentials Office to create and implement efficient, effective policies and criteria governing credentialing and medical staff operations. Education Bachelor's Level Degree (Required) or Certification may be accepted in lieu of degree Certification/Licensure National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) (Preferred) Certified Provider Enrollment Specialist (CPCS) (Preferred) Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) (Preferred) Experience Medical Staff Relations, 3 years (Required) Credentialing, 3 years (Required)
