Senior Accounting Manager - Clinical (Biotech/Pharma) ???? San Francisco, CA (Hybrid) A growing, mission-driven biopharma company is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager - Clinical to join its expanding accounting team. This role is highly visible and plays a critical part in the R D accounting close process, with a primary focus on clinical trial accounting. This organization is dedicated to advancing innovative therapies for patients with serious and often underserved conditions, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. What You'll Do Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities related to clinical R D accruals Own and maintain the clinical cost tracker (expenses, prepayments, deposits, accruals) Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP and SOX requirements Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, FP&A, and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely reporting Review clinical budgets and incorporate estimates into financial reporting Analyze vendor contracts, purchase orders, and work orders to determine appropriate accounting treatment Perform variance and fluctuation analysis across clinical programs, entities, and development phases Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls Contribute to system implementations and process improvement initiatives related to clinical cost tracking and reporting Assist with ad hoc projects and special initiatives What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred) 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within biotech or pharma Strong understanding of clinical trial accounting and R D processes Experience with public company environments and SOX compliance Background combining public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience is highly valued Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar) and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas) Ability to analyze complex vendor contracts and apply accounting judgment under US GAAP Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating cross-functionally Why Join Purpose-driven organization focused on improving patient outcomes Highly collaborative and innovative culture Competitive compensation package including bonus and equity Comprehensive benefits Flexible PTO Strong emphasis on professional development and growth Opportunity to work alongside cross-functional teams across multiple locations Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://www.lhh.com/us/en/candidate-privacy The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:
