reviews Buena Vista University is seeking a Student Health & Wellness Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of the Wellness Center and support student wellbeing through outreach, education, and access to care. This role plays an important part in helping students stay healthy, feel supported, and succeed during their time at BVU. In this role, you'll help ensure students can easily access health and wellness resources through the Wellness Center, campus health staff, and telehealth services. You'll keep operations running smoothly while also building relationships with students and creating a welcoming, supportive environment. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys both structure and connection and values being both organized and connecting with students. This is a 10-month position (August-May) with limited summer responsibilities, including participation in June orientation days and occasional remote support in July.

Primary Responsibilities:

Keep the Wellness Center running smoothly day-to-day, including schedules, communication, and space readiness Hire, train, schedule, and support student employees Work closely with the Campus Nurse and University Counselor to support clinic operations, including supplies, budgets, and systems Coordinate appointments and help ensure a positive, efficient student experience Create a welcoming, supportive environment where students feel comfortable seeking care Maintain student health records and support immunization tracking and compliance Support and advance telehealth services, serving as a campus resource; provide training and outreach to increase awareness and use Plan and deliver wellness programs, outreach, and campus-wide initiatives in collaboration with campus partners Use data, feedback, and day-to-day insights to improve systems, access, and the overall student experience

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required; background in public health, student affairs, human services, or related fields especially helpful, but candidates from other fields with relevant experience are encouraged to apply. A clinical background such as a Registered Nurse (RN) or other healthcare credentials is welcomed but not required. Experience coordinating programs, services, or operations, ideally in healthcare, wellness, or higher education Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Collaborative approach and ability to build positive working relationships Clear communication skills and a student-centered mindset Comfort using technology and learning new systems A background check will be conducted on the final candidate.
