Job Description
THE POSITION
The Department of Labor & Industry is seeking a highly motivated professional that is ready to take their career to the next level. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Manager 1, you will be responsible for the implementation of the State and Federal Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program in the three-county district office service area. VR services are provided to individuals with disabilities who may benefit from assistance to prepare for, enter into, retain, or advance in employment. This role is under the general supervision of the Acting Vocational Rehabilitation Manager 2, the District Administrator of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) Washington District Office. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Manager 1, you will be managing and directing the activity of professional and support staff in the OVR Washington District Office. Work includes participating in work groups, leading work groups, completing special assignments, as well as attending meetings, conferences, and training opportunities. You will have the opportunity to interact with community-based organizations, employers, and constituents to promote successful employment of individuals with disabilities. This position requires a high level of independent decision-making on all issues pertinent to the effective operation of the district office.Additional responsibilities include:
Developing strategic and operational plans Developing and implementing caseload assignments, supervisory unit composition and function, clerical assignments, and fiscal operations Providing leadership, guidance, and direction concerning agency philosophy Ensuring VR services are provided in a manner that complies with federal and state legislation, regulations, agency policy, and procedures Developing new service opportunities and evaluating their effectiveness Resolving complaints and grievances Accessing and updating participant records, provider information, and fiscal information Interested in learning more? Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours are negotiable - 7.5-hour workday and lunch period either 30 or 60 minutes This position is eligible for an alternate work schedule.Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Washington. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.Salary:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of professional social or human services experience that includes two years of professional experience working in programs that serve persons with disabilities and that includes or is supplemented by one year of professional supervisory or consultative social or human services experience, and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional experience working in programs that serve persons with disabilities and that includes or is supplemented by one year of professional supervisory or consultative social or human services experience.Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:
