Job Family Emergency Services Discipline Emergency Preparedness Career Level P2 Salary Range $59,040 - $82,788 Note for Salary This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered. Actual offers may be more or less than the amounts shown depending on candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors. Job Family Description Emergency Services personnel safeguard individuals, property, and assets against potential emergencies. They assess emergency risks, develop continuity of operations (COOP) plans, implement trainings, drills, facility qualifications, and establish preventative measures. They ensure compliance with emergency preparedness/response procedures and requirements. Discipline Description Emergency preparedness roles focus on developing, implementing, and coordinating plans and strategies to effectively respond to and mitigate various emergencies and disasters. Emergency preparedness professionals develop and maintain emergency plans and procedures, assess risks and vulnerabilities, identify response strategies, and manage drills.
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:
With minimum supervision, responsible for one or more of the following equivalent assignments, singularly or in combinations: Design, develop and maintain emergency plans and procedures. Ensure QA standard and DOE Order requirements for procedure content and format are followed. As a member of a team, plan, schedule and conduct a wide range of facility and/or site Emergency Preparedness drills to include Emergency Response Organization (ERO) training dills, medical drills, fire response drills, and protective action drills. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered We'd Also Like to See Candidate must demonstrate use of computers and have industrial work experience (Contractor Assurance, Quality Assurance). Previous experience in site drill programs or emergency response. Problem solving skills. Oral and written communication skills. Skilled at technical writing. Presentation development and public speaking. Able to work in a team environment. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
