Job Description

Summary of Position:
The Clinical Quality Coordinator is a Registered Nurse with advanced knowledge, skill and competence who initiates quality improvement strategies while focusing on the outcomes of patient populations, family and community. The Quality Coordinator is accountable for working with nursing, physicians, and ancillary staff to champion mandated quality measures for improvement of evidence-based outcomes and insuring accuracy, validity and reliability in data reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identifies opportunities that impede attainment of clinical outcomes, Analyzes and evaluates clinical data as it relates to clinical outcomes and resource utilization. Interprets this information for other health care providers and communicates necessary strategies for improvement. Facilitates organization-level clinical programs by integrating standards of care/clinical guidelines/protocols in collaboration with multidisciplinary groups. Serves as a clinical resource; provides education regarding clinical data as it pertains to clinical outcomes. Maintains awareness and knowledge of best practice strategies, disseminating information to relevant groups. Presents educational programs or assists in the development of educational materials related to clinical areas of expertise/improvement efforts. Conducts research on current practice guidelines and hardwires processes to ensure best practice. Participates in activities supportive of ongoing improvement of medical staff quality. Assists with special projects as needed. Acts as facility liaison for outside agencies (CMS, GWTG, Midas, Premier).
Qualifications:
BSN with a current SC RN license. A minimum of 5 years' clinical experience is required. Knowledge of Quality Improvement Processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in Nursing or other healthcare related field preferred. Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
