Job Description

York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State. The Part-Time EMS Clinical Coordinator performs the following functions: Clinical and Field Placement Coordination
  • Coordinate EMS student clinical and field internship schedules with faculty, program leadership, clinical affiliates, EMS agencies, and approved preceptors.
Assist with tracking student progress toward required hours, skills, competencies, and patient contacts, and maintain related documentation for program review, accreditation, and compliance purposes. Student Readiness and Compliance Documentation
  • Track required student documentation, including immunizations, background checks, drug screenings, life support certifications, and site-specific requirements. Communicate missing or incomplete documentation to students and program leadership in a timely manner. Clinical Partner Communication
  • Serve as a point of contact for students, faculty, preceptors, clinical affiliates, and EMS agencies regarding scheduling, attendance, clinical expectations, and site requirements. Refer student performance concerns, site issues, or compliance matters to appropriate program leadership. Clinical Records and Tracking Systems
  • Maintain accurate clinical and field internship records in applicable tracking systems, such as FISDAP or similar platforms. Ensure records are complete, organized, confidential, and available for internal review, accreditation, and compliance purposes. Student Clinical Preparation
  • Assist with student orientation to clinical and field expectations, professional conduct, documentation requirements, confidentiality, HIPAA, safety expectations, and site-specific procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent Current South Carolina Paramedic certification or National Registry Paramedic certification with eligibility for South Carolina certification Minimum of three years of EMS field experience at the Paramedic level Working knowledge of EMS clinical and field internship expectations, student competency documentation, and professional standards. Proficiency with standard office technology and ability to learn clinical tracking systems. Associate degree or higher in EMS, allied health, healthcare, education, or a related field. Experience coordinating, precepting, teaching, or evaluating EMS students in a clinical, field, laboratory, or educational setting. Experience using FISDAP, Platinum Planner, or similar clinical tracking software. Current instructor-level credentials in BLS, ACLS, PALS, or other EMS-related instructional areas. Experience with CoAEMSP/CAAHEP accreditation documentation or EMS program review.
