The Department of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) at South Dakota State University (SDState) invites applications for an Assistant Program Director at the Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice rank within the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program beginning August 2026. This position is ideal for a dedicated and experienced industry professional passionate about teaching and committed to shaping the future of the concrete industry. The successful candidate will bring expertise in concrete technology, construction management, and industry operations, with a strong understanding of managing people, systems, and product promotion within the concrete sector. This role is supervised by the CIM Program Director under the direction of the Department Head of Construction and Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) and provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact through high-quality instruction and industry engagement. This is a 9-month, full-time, benefits eligible position, with the possibility of additional summer assignment, located in Brookings, SD . SDState is the state's largest, most comprehensive university with over $94 million annual research expenditures, more than 200 academic programs and an enrollment of approximately 12,000 students. The CCIM department finds its home within the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering, one of the eight colleges at South Dakota State University. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate courses and/or laboratories in concrete-related disciplines. Advise and mentor undergraduate students and support student competitions. Collaborate with industry partners to align the curriculum with current industry needs. Contribute to student recruitment, outreach, and retention efforts to strengthen program enrollment and industry engagement. Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, supporting SDSU's mission and the CIM program's strategic goals. SALARY:
The salary and rank for this position are commensurate with qualifications starting at $75,000 for the Assistant Professor of Practice. Summer salary may also be available depending upon the needs of the department and program. BENEFITS

Relocation benefits are available per university's guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field with at least 5 years of experience in construction projects using U.S. standards, or Bachelor's degree in Concrete Industry Management with at least 2 years of experience in the concrete industry. Potential or ability to develop course content and teach at the college level. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, with a willingness to travel. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience performing concrete test batches in a laboratory setting. Experience teaching concrete-related courses at the college level. Supervisory or leadership experience. Active membership in professional organizations such as ACI, NRMCA, etc. APPLICATION DEADLINE
