Primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays (United States of America) Position Highlights You Belong at Avera Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. Work where you matter. A Brief Overview Accountable for effectively fulfilling the goals and objective of the department while managing the department's resources effectively and efficiently. Specific responsibilities include all aspects of directing, development, planning, scheduling, and dealing with employee issues. The Administrator also must plan for staffing and fiscal budgeting for the department, as well as, being responsible for developing written job descriptions, hiring, training, and evaluating personnel performance. What you will do Provides direction and leadership to the facility in accordance with the mission, philosophy, and strategic direction of the organization. Ensures and carries out policies and procedures in the day-to-day operations of the facility. Understands and operates the facility to meet the requirement for State Licensure and other regulatory agencies. Is responsible for the overall management, organization, and staffing of the facility. Is responsible for compliance with all regulatory standards. Establishes fiscal plan for department and operates within its parameters. Organizes and implements goals and strategies to regularly evaluate if facility is meeting those goals. Acts as spokesperson for facility to the community, residents, and families. Maintains high morale among staff, inspiring teamwork through sensitive and fair leadership. Exhibits decision making ability; responds to and provides direction in changing workload and in stressful situations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Bachelor's business, nursing or related field Nursing Home Administrator - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice within 180 Days Minimum of 3-12 months experience in long term care and minimum of 5 years experience in health service administration with a minimum of 2 years in a management capacity including finance management in LTC or related health program
