Full-time Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Handles front desk and medical records duties.
SUPERVISION
Reports to the Center Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare charts for appointments; print daily appointment list for provider, type and create new patient chart within 24 hours of office visit Check patients in for appointments; verify insurance and demographic information at each visit, collect co-payments and patient balances Check out patient after they've seen the physician; schedule return visit as needed Answer phones; take and relay messages; refer callers to other departments as needed Copy, scan and mail documents and forms as needed Performs related work as required.

Exposure to patients and public Exposure to paper products including carbon Regular use of computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone Work may be stressful at times Accommodating unique demands from each physician and their staff
GENERAL WORKER TRAITS AND QUALITIES
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues Must be a team player with a positive attitude Ability and desire to represent the clinic in a professional manner Position require sympathy, tact and understanding in dealing with patients, physicians, and coworkers Ability to adjust to various personalities Ability to work with and without supervision and perform a variety of routine tasks Willingness to accept responsibility for established procedures
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Knowledge of medical practice procedures and functions preferred Knowledge of medical terminology preferred, but not required Previous experience with telephone systems and office equipment including copiers, adding machines, fax machines and computers Excellent communication skills. Strong organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Word and other EMR systems Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
