Incentives Summary:
Provides proactive leadership on assigned construction projects, from the preconstruction and bidding phase, through planning and buyout, construction, close-out, and warranty, with a primary focus on active healthcare and hospital construction projects, including occupied renovations and mission-critical healthcare facilities. Accountable for client satisfaction, project quality, cost control, and schedule adherence, working as a team with Project Superintendents and Project Engineers. Must understand the complexities of working in live healthcare environments where infection control, patient safety, interim life safety measures, shutdown coordination, and strict operational planning are critical. Conforms to corporate policies and procedures, upholds ethical standards, and exemplifies corporate values, with an emphasis on integrity and service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Represent Nabholz in business development efforts, including active participation in community and industry organizations, project interviews, and company events. Lead project development through the Preconstruction phase with the support of the Preconstruction Department. Develop project management plan, including safety plan, quality plan, and site logistics plan, with the support of Project Team. Manage commitments to Subcontractors and Suppliers, ensuring internal compliance with procurement policies and vendor compliance with contract terms. Collaborate with Project Team and safety staff to ensure the safe execution of projects with an achievable goal of zero jobsite incidents. Manage all financial aspects of Project, from job setup to monthly billings, forecasting, and final closeout, to ensure that Project meets profitability goals. Maintain positive relationship with current and potential clients and designers. Provide team leadership, both internally and externally. Actively promote safe execution of projects, with an achievable goal of zero jobsite incidents. Anticipate construction flow to provide proactive project planning. Prepare and manage project budget proactively, forecasting final project costs monthly, if not more frequently. Strong organizational ability with daily management of multi-tasking. Lead construction projects within active healthcare and hospital environments, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care and facility operations. Coordinate construction activities in occupied spaces with strict adherence to ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment), ILSM (Interim Life Safety Measures), shutdown planning, and healthcare-specific safety protocols. Collaborate with hospital/facility stakeholders, infection prevention teams, and operations staff to plan and execute work safely. Manage complex phasing, after-hours work, shutdown coordination, and sensitive renovations in mission-critical healthcare environments. Maintain exceptional communication with healthcare clients regarding project sequencing, operational impacts, patient safety considerations, and project execution. This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes. This position requires driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company or a company vehicle; therefore, the applicant must successfully complete a motor vehicle records check, possess, and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, and immediately self-report convictions/violations/tickets to the DOT Compliance Specialist as per Company Policy. Skill Requirements:
A 4-year college degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or similar program is preferred. Career experience must include at least 5+ years in commercial construction project management, including recent healthcare construction experience. Direct experience managing projects in active hospital, occupied healthcare, or mission-critical medical environments is required. Demonstrated experience managing projects in live/occupied healthcare settings. Familiarity with hospital compliance standards, infection control procedures, shutdown coordination, ICRA/ILSM requirements, and phased renovations. Healthcare client relationship experience strongly preferred. Must understand commercial construction means, methods, and materials, including standard practices and regulations. Excellent written and oral communication. Must be willing and able to speak before groups of people in project interviews and other presentations. OSHA 30-hour training. Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands:
Travel overnight as projects or corporate responsibilities require. Continuously sit, stand, or walk. Bend, squat, climb stairs, or ladders. Lift frequently 20 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
