Position Summary:
Under direction of the Imaging Director/Manager, Peripheral and Neuro Vascular Coordinator is responsible for daily clinical operations of the Peripheral and Neuro Vascular Invasive Lab (IVR) and special procedures. This coordinator is expected to exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing the duties below.
Responsibilities:
Performs all duties of an IVR RN or ARRT (VI) Tech. Maintains responsibility for quality patient care in IVR Lab and special procedures. Participates in equipment planning, staffing and uniformity of IVR lab and special procedures. Serves as a public relations liaison in dealing with scope of peripheral and neuro vascular invasive procedure and special procedure service availability. With Director/Manager, acts as a liaison to Peripheral and Neuro Interventional Radiologists to effectively coordinate procedures, scheduling and staffing between Interventional Radiologists and the IVR lab and special procedures. Maintains and enhances expertise in IVR imaging methods and procedures. Promotes cultural change to develop and support the team approach to deliver patient care in IVR lab and special procedures. Facilitates development of success measures, to include facilitator and team member implementation of long and short-term goals for department teams. Develops reviews and updates department specific policies and procedures. Monitors and maintains department compliance to meet all regulatory agency requirements. In collaboration with the Imaging Department Director/Manager, provides personnel management to include staff placement, discipline, interviews and orientation. Assesses individual/team performance appraisal and career ladder. Assures daily operations are performed to include: staffing, interdisciplinary meetings, department statistics, payroll, charges and inventory ordering and control. Acts as a liaison to patients and others to provide timely and accurate communication and problem resolution. Acts as a primary contact with vendors for product evaluation and recommendation. Coordinates daily staffing ratios based on workload and staff. Participates in development and implementation of education and in-service programs for staff, students and other departments. Collaborates with others to determine product standardization as needed. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years Neuro, Peripheral IVR, or equivalent experience required.
Licensure Requirement:
Must have and maintain RN licensure, Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT) licensure, or registered cardiovascular technologist (RCIS) licensure.
