THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN
The GME Program Manager 2 ensures regulatory and accreditation standards are met as outlined by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). This position serves as the primary liaison between the Residency and Fellowship Program Director, residents, fellows, program faculty, GME Office and affiliated teaching sites concerning the residency program. This position provides direct oversight of the daily administrative and professional responsibilities for all program residents in-training as outlined by
CODA. EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree. (TRANSCRIPT
REQUIRED
)
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of relevant experience; OR Master's Degree in lieu of experience; OR a combination of education and work experience to equal six (6) years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and human resources management skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing. Ability to always use professionalism and discretion. Ability to effectively make brief, focused, and well-organized oral and written presentations. Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and digital systems. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work and think independently, take initiative, and provide detail-oriented work.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position may occasionally be required to work evenings. Coordinates and directs all administrative needs of the Oral and Maxillofacial Residency and the Oral/Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery Fellowship. Compiles and reports accurate programmatic data for annual reports to the American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Compiles ongoing statistics for every five-year site visit accreditation review. Coordinates and maintains records of certification courses for residents and faculty. Manages the administration of the application, interview, and recruitment process for prospective residents' correspondence, scheduling interviews, meals, and equipment setup. Directs all aspects of the medical student and dental student externship program, including scheduling, setting up housing, and correspondence. Maintains a database of documentation and statistics of resident surgical cases in ED, OR, and outpatient clinics for residents. Coordinates resident and faculty evaluations. Compiles monthly call schedules and didactic schedules and distributes to faculty and residents. Updates department website in relation to Residency and Fellowship Programs. Performs other related job duties as assigned.
