Statewide Development Director of Mental Health Housing Support Solutions Memphis - Memphis, TN 38134 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Apply Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Statewide Development Director of Mental Health Housing will work directly with the Director of Mental Health Services in establishing future mental health and youth services opportunities across the state of Tennessee. Grow lines of service as defined by management by developing/retaining referrals from physicians and other key non-physician referral sources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead development effort in mental health services and youth services. Supports the Director of Mental Health Services in developing additional product lines (e.g. supportive housing, etc.) Helps identify and address organizational development issues that impact service effectiveness. Collaborate closely with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, and management, as well as provide education staff to generate referral sources. Recommends short and long range development plans and programs that support the company's values and general objectives. Represents Support Solutions with external groups as assigned. Work collaboratively with all levels of leadership to support the organization's mission and revenue goals by selling service line attributes, processes and outcomes to consumer, physician, and market facility groups/individuals. Work closely with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians, management, inpatient unit, and education staff to generate referral sources. Collaborate with facility and division leaders to evaluate, analyze and interpret market utilization data for facility service lines. Build strong collaborative relationship with admissions/intake. Develop and implement a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan that would increase revenues and profits for the facility. Ensure that referral priorities are identified and in line with the vision and strategic goals of the organization. Evaluate, analyze, and interpret market demographics, including population, age, gender, race and projected trends for patient populations. Execute referrals and retention strategies/plans effectively, continuously modifying strategies and plans to ensure quality outcomes and results for referral sources and facilities. Successfully close new referral sources and complete face-to-face meetings with referral sources ensuring a thorough understanding of services available. Complete follow-up meetings with referral sources as needed. Prepare and present regular reports, identifying trends, additional referral opportunities and obstacles to retention and growth. Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation. Other duties assigned by the Director of Mental Health Services and/or Chief Executive Officer.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. This position will ensure that adequate site supervision and unannounced visits are maintained, records are maintained and guidelines for record keeping are enforced. They will also assist in ensuring that all programs for persons with developmental disabilities provide the best possible outcomes for individuals while operating in a cost-effective manner. The position will ensure that managers will maintain the required documentation for each service component. Daily notes, monthly summaries, attendance calendars, monthly drills, MARS, medical transfer packets, as well as personal data collection. The Statewide Development Director of Mental Health Housing will assist persons supported with accessing community resources, housing and ensure funding requests are forwarded to the ISC agency and State Agency Service Plan Unit in a timely manner. In addition, the Statewide Development Director of Mental Health Housing will work with the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Mental Health Services to revise and maintain the funding request care plan tracking system. In addition, he/she will provide oversight of the tracking of care plans. Under the Supervision of the Mental Health Director this position will serve as the primary admission and discharge officer for SSMS, as well as chair the weekly Admission Discharge and Transition (ADT) meeting. Ensure all documentation for admission and discharge is completed, filed and maintained. Assist with the design and implementation of all Mental Health programs, including the Mental Health Clinic. Ensure the prompt implementation of care plans, BSP and therapy plans for those persons he/she is directly supporting and communicate this information to staff. Review and approve staff schedules and activity calendars for the homes. Review daily notes weekly and ensure monthly summaries for each person supported assigned to this position is completed. Ensure that training requirements for his/her position are completed in a timely manner and likewise for all staff assigned to this position. Ensure that staff meetings are conducted monthly or as needed. Maintain notes for those meetings so staff can follow up on problem areas. Encourage high productivity, commitment and cooperation by sharing information through candid, clear and timely communication. Contribute to the smooth administration of Support Solutions' services by performing other duties/tasks as assigned. Monitor utilization of electronic records system. Encourage customer satisfaction through regular contact with persons served, conservators, families and external stakeholders. In the absence of a Program Manager, the Statewide Development Director of Mental Health Housing will assume or delegate the duties of this position. In certain areas and under specific circumstances, The Statewide Development Director of Mental Housing may be assigned a Program Manager caseload. Qualifications
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Two or more years' related experience in healthcare business development role required. One or more years' supervisor experience required. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational skills, able to complete heavy workloads within established time frames, and perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Effective interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others, ability to interact appropriately with others in various contexts and purposes. Must be able to practice confidentiality in all matters pertaining to clients and employees. Has effective time management in the office and in the field and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate. Can perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, in a job that may require significant differences in technology, techniques, environmental factors, physical demands, or work situations. A working knowledge of community resources. Keeps a professional appearance. Able to follow instructions and work independently. Have a proficient knowledge of computer software programs needed to complete job tasks. Have a general knowledge of office machines. (Fax, Printers, Copiers, etc.) Understands protocol when working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Possess a high degree of leadership and a lead by example mindset, make appropriate job decisions following standard office policies and procedures, recognize emergency situations and take appropriate action, think through the consequences of a decision prior to making it.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
Valid state-issued Driver License and valid State of Tennessee license for DCS Valid automobile insurance (this must be maintained throughout employment if required.) Maintain applicable certifications, such as CPR, First Aid, crisis management, medication certification.
