Job Overview Here at Ears 4 U Hearing Services, we are a small audiology private practice with a wide range of services to provide to our patients, both new and loyal. We are going through a period of growth and are seeking to hire a second patient care coordinator to join our team. We are looking for a very independent individual to be the face of our office, and our gatekeeper. We look forward to your application! Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Proficient in Microsoft Office (mainly Word) and ability to type Strong phone skills Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English. Spanish speaking is helpful. Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance Basic knowledge of medical terminology would be a plus Excellent interpersonal skills Punctual with strong attendance history Responsibilities for Patient Care Coordinator Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner. Our patients are hard of hearing, so a clear strong voice is desired. Welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner. Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out upon check in, and fees collected upon check out. Maintain reception area and keep all common areas clean and tidy. Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer. Keep detailed and accurate records of patient requests and of calls received. Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail. Send out mailings including but not limited to: thank you cards, birthday cards, statements (on occasion), annual evaluations and clean and check letters. Take inventory of supplies and restock as needed. Maintain and utilize, in detail, the online office filing system. Anyone with medical billing experience and/or an understanding of insurance verification is highly desired! Audiology is a challenging-to-navigate field of healthcare, therefore we are looking for someone who is comfortable discussing and collecting deductibles, copays, and reviewing benefits.
