Oral Surgeon / Director of Operations Position Overview Nomad Dental Specialists is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Oral Surgery Assistant to oversee clinical support operations across multiple partner offices throughout the DFW area. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced oral surgery assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, mobile surgical environment and is confident managing team coordination, compliance, and clinical flow. As a W-2 employee , this position includes mileage reimbursement for travel between offices. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise, leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and surgical excellence. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership Lead and coordinate assisting teams at multiple partner offices. Ensure treatment rooms are properly set up and surgical protocols are followed consistently. Oversee sterilization, infection control, and OSHA compliance standards. Train and mentor assistants on surgical workflow, sedation support, and documentation requirements. Maintain accountability for case readiness, supplies, and surgical efficiency. Chairside Surgical Support Provide advanced chairside assistance during oral surgery procedures, including extractions, impacted teeth, implants, bone grafting, and IV sedation cases. Anticipate surgeon needs and support efficient procedure flow. Ensure patient monitoring protocols are followed when sedation is administered. Patient Experience & Care Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing treatment plans and answering questions. Provide clear and thorough post-operative instructions. Maintain a calm, reassuring presence in high-pressure environments. Radiography & Documentation Capture high-quality radiographs (including CBCT when applicable). Accurately document procedures, sedation logs, and treatment notes in digital systems. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and recordkeeping standards. Operational & Administrative Support Assist with scheduling, case coordination, and daily surgical logistics. Monitor inventory and surgical kits; communicate supply needs proactively. Support billing documentation and insurance processing related to oral surgery procedures. Travel Travel to multiple offices throughout DFW as scheduled.
Transportation Provided:
Nomad Dental Specialists provides a company vehicle for the Lead Assistant to drive between scheduled partner offices. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) - Preferred DAANCE certification or IV sedation experience - Strongly Preferred Minimum 2+ years oral surgery assisting experience Experience leading or mentoring other assistants preferred Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and infection control Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized and detail-oriented Ability to stay composed in a fast-paced, high-production surgical environment Why Join Nomad Dental Specialists?
