LifeGift is currently looking for a Manager of Surgical Recovery Services at our Fort Worth office. Are you someone who would like to have a career with purpose? In this position you will be responsible for the daily aspects of the organ recovery, preservation, and perfusion of organs for transplantation and research. The Manager of Surgical Recovery Services is responsible for overseeing the training of the DRS (Donation Recovery Specialists), DRS Team Leads, and Scrub Technicians. Is a resource, and maintains expertise and knowledge of the organ recovery process, Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN), LifeGift policy, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and standards. The Manager of Surgical Recovery Services supervises the DRS Team Leads, DRS, and Scrub Technicians staff, ensuring that the staff handles their responsibilities with professionalism, expertise, and compassion. The Manager of Surgical Recovery Services assures that the duties and responsibilities are carried out according to LifeGift and OPTN policy and standards, as well as CMS standards. The Manager will also facilitate the general activities required throughout the donor recovery, organ perfusion, and organ distribution logistics. Do you possess the attributes to be a successful Manager of Surgical Recovery Services and perform the following essential functions? Can manage and directly supervise the daily activities of assigned staff. Manage and perform organ preservation, packaging, labeling, and delivery of organs. Manage and ensure that equipment required for the recovery process (local or import) and transport equipment is available for the DRS to transport to the recovery location. Manages and reviews documentation for organ recovery and perfusion. Oversee, manage, and analyze data for kidney perfusion and transplant outcomes for quarterly reports to the Medical Advisory Committee. Manages and review documentation in the donor medical record, pre-op, intra-op, and post-op. Oversee and manage DRS Team Leads and DRS staff placing kidneys on preservation pump, monitoring kidney function during perfusion, delivering kidneys on the preservation pump to transplant centers, while ensuring proper verification of donor information and allocation. Serves as DRS Administrator on Call (AOC) for all of the LifeGift regions. Creates and monitors the schedule for 24/7 coverage of DRS Team Leads, DRS, and Scrub Technicians for organ preservation in the southeast (SE) region. Do you have the education and experience to be a Manager of Surgical Recovery Services? Have you been in the operating room performing organ recoveries with at least 2-5 years of progressive experience. We are looking for a professional with a Bachelor's degree, with Certified Scrub Technician experience, Certified First Assistant experience and Certified Transplant Perfusionist experience. Do you also have supervisory experience leading a team with surgical skills? Then this is the role you may be interested in. This role requires frequent travel and ability to commute to different hospital partners within our service area, as well as the availability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
