Full Job Description Position Summary:
Performs duties necessary to ensure assigned area of operations functions independently as well as interdependently to accomplish the goals and objectives of MCHS ProCare. Directs and coordinates activities in the office, including patient registration, cashiering, medical records, billing, coding, AR collection and other assigned areas related to job skills.
Qualifications:
A.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. B.
Training and Experience:
One to three years commensurate experience in general office capacity is preferred. Medical background is preferred. C.
Minimal qualifications:
Must be professional and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must have experience in meeting people and dealing with them under adverse conditions. Must be capable of learning rapidly and accepting change. Prefer experience in an accounting department or similar work environment. Prefer experience in State and Federal health care programs. Prefer experience in insurance billing and collections. Must also possess ability or experience to work with ProCare's computer system, which involves patient data inquiry and capabilities through various computer functions. D.
Job Knowledge:
General knowledge of medical business office practices. Strong communication skills. Basic understanding of business application software. Must be able to prioritize. Ability to maintain calm temperament under stressful conditions. Good math skills, deductive reasoning and general office machine operations required.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
1. Extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking. 2. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases. 3. Ability to maintain a pleasant, even temperament while working under pressure and heavy workloads. 4. Must have the ability to conduct business in person and on the telephone.
