Job Description

Summary of Role:
The Clinical Manager & PGY1 Residency Program Manager shares responsibility for clinical operations with the Pharmacy Director. The Clinical Manager & PGY1 Residency Program Manager assists the Director in meeting legal, accreditation, and certification requirements, and promoting safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies. The Clinical Manager & PGY1 Residency Program Manager ensures the pharmacy residency program is compliant with all ASHP standards for accreditation. Aims for continuing improvement of the design and execution of the program to achieve and maintain the longest possible ASHP accreditation term. Maintains communication with preceptors and residents to receive feedback for the program's improvement. Maintains constant communication with preceptors to stay informed of the progress and seeks solutions to resolve challenges. Develops strategies to showcase the program to attract the best resident candidates. The Clinical Manager & PGY1 Residency Program Manager will spend up to 50% of their time working as a clinical pharmacy specialist.
Qualifications:
Education:
Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Texas. Pharm D preferred.
Training and Experience:
Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of Texas. Graduate of an ASHP accredited residency. BCPS or equivalent board certification. Must be eligible for ASHP residency director status. Must maintain ASHP standards for preceptors and residency directors.
