Job Details Job Summary The Field Coordinator provides professional administration and managerial skills in the coordination of assigned phases of program development, implementation, evaluation, and outreach. This role is responsible for administration, curriculum development and instruction, outreach, and service of assigned phases for the social work practicum component within the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and/or Master of Social Work (MSW) Programs. Core Responsibilities Recruits, develops, monitors, and evaluates field instructors and practicum sites. Responds to inquiries regarding field education from students, liaisons, faculty, administration, field instructors, and community. Develops, maintains, and recruits resources for social work field education practicum sites. Coordinates the process of matching of students to agencies while providing ongoing negotiation and problem resolution as needed. Participates in determination of student readiness for entry into field education. Participates in development and implementation of orientation and training for students, field instructors, liaisons, and/or faculty. Participates in the development and implementation of field instruction policies, procedures, and systems for smooth operation of field program. Develops and maintains records and relational data base for all activities of field education. Participates in the development and implementation of field education accreditation standards and departmental policies and procedures, which includes the Department Student Handbook and Field Manual. Participates in committees as assigned. Serves as the field liaison or field supervisor as needed. Teach at least two courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, based on the needs of the program. Implements field education curriculum. Coordinates and participates in facilitation of field education orientation experiences for students and field instructors. Supports field liaisons. Maintains visibility in the local social service community through board memberships, students and field instructors. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program. Social Work licensure in Texas or eligibility for licensure in Texas. Two (2) years of related work experience. This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of the human service delivery system within the San Antonio community/region. Strong skills in organization, oral/written communication, collaboration, and leadership. Experience in teaching. Ability to provide educational supervision and field instruction to practicum students Exceptional interpersonal skills, including problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher, as well as Internet and relational databases. Knowledge of academic and social work practice environments. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Communication Planning and Reporting Compliance Time Management Collaboration Working Conditions Office Environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary based on the needs of the department. Physical Demands Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. This position will work primarily on campus . Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. This position is contingent upon a successful background check.
