This vital role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient care. As a Lead Medical Assistant/Clinical Coordinator, you will oversee daily clinical activities, support medical staff, and coordinate patient services in outpatient setting. Your expertise in medical discipline will be essential to delivering comprehensive care in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead by example while advancing your career in healthcare. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliations.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures as needed.
  • Administer injections, vaccines, EKGs, and other clinical services within scope of practice.
  • Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
  • Process laboratory specimens and coordinate diagnostic testing.
  • Review and complete clinical tasks, messages, and refill requests according to office protocols.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Leadership Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to Medical Assistants.
  • Monitor staffing assignments and patient flow throughout the day.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and competency assessment of new Medical Assistants.
  • Mentor staff and provide coaching on clinical workflows and best practices.
  • Promote accountability, professionalism, and teamwork among clinical staff.
  • Identify workflow issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical questions and operational concerns.
  • Escalate performance, patient care, or compliance concerns to management as appropriate. Operational Responsibilities
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for patient care.
  • Monitor inventory of clinical supplies and submit ordering requests.
  • Assist with schedule management and coverage planning during staff absences.
  • Support implementation of clinic policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement projects.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
  • Assist with audits, quality metrics, and regulatory requirements. Patient Service Responsibilities
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Address patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Promote a positive patient experience through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect patient privacy at all times.
Skills Qualifications Education and certifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a primary care setting. Previous leadership, supervisory, or preceptor experience required. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of primary care clinical workflows. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to train, coach, and motivate staff. Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
Pay:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour
