Work location:
This manager will handle the East region Core work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p. Summary This position will have leadership oversight of the deployment and operational workflow for the clinical learning (CL) educators and related employees who work to provide the overall value of clinical learning to the hospital channel. This position will manage a team of system learning professionals deployed to the entities, to develop, coordinate, facilitate, conduct and evaluate clinical learning programs and activities. As an established leader, this role will also function as a liaison between the corporate clinical learning (CL) department and the executive leaders at each entity. Job Duties Administration Manages a team of educators to develop a comprehensive clinical learning program which helps individuals deploy and integrate THR best practices into daily activities. Partners with the Learning Consultants, OD consultants, new hire managers, HR, Nursing, Allied Health Disciplines, Safety, PI, and Risk to identify necessary knowledge and skills related to broad THR concepts, competencies and regulatory requirements. Coordinates and maintains a functional ratio of clinical learning educators to entity size and service line requirements. Curriculum Development --This function is in collaboration with the entity executive leader over CL. Curriculum will be already established and any additional mandatory CL/system requirements related to quality/safety/regulatory/onboarding and other programs. Helps to create and design learning and professional development activities as the system department has resources per entity. --Helps to ensure each entities need for CL is in-line with system priorities. Uses adult learning concepts and instructional design principles in planning activities. Determines the most appropriate instructional method, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs, applicability and effectiveness of methods. Evidence Based Practice Researches a variety of information sources to identify trends and evidence-based practice strategies for learning and professional development. Identifies and implements innovative approaches for training. Evaluation In collaboration with entity CL leaders, this position identifies performance metrics including productivity, and oversees the accountability and performance improvement for each employee. Collects, analyzes and reports data for program evaluation and improvement. Designs and applies assessment tools to measure training effectiveness. Implements performance improvements based on assessments. Other professional duties as assigned and in alignment with overall CL purpose. Education Master's Degree in Nursing, healthcare, or education related field required Experience 2 years staff development or adult education experience in an acute care hospital setting required 3 years related clinical experience required Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse Texas required upon hire Skills Advanced word processing including MS Word required. Expert user of Epic Clinical Documentation System preferred.
