Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator (Part-Time) Riverhead Wellness MD - Charlottesville, VA About Our Clinic Riverhead Wellness MD is a physician-led wellness and longevity practice specializing in medical weight loss, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, preventive medicine and aesthetic wellness. Position Summary We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator to support both the clinical and administrative needs of our patients and providers. This hybrid role combines front office coordination with hands-on patient care responsibilities. The ideal candidate is energetic, outgoing, professional, highly organized, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced medical environment. Experience in medical weight loss, hormone optimization, wellness medicine, longevity medicine or aesthetics is strongly preferred. As one of the primary patient-facing representatives of the practice, you will help ensure a seamless experience from scheduling and check-in through clinical support and follow-up care. Responsibilities Patient Experience & Front Office Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth and confidence Answer incoming calls, texts and patient inquiries Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars Confirm appointments and conduct reminder outreach Check patients in and out efficiently Collect payments and process transactions accurately Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the EMR Assist with patient communications, reviews, follow-up care and membership support Maintain an organized, professional front office environment Clinical Support Prepare exam and treatment rooms Obtain and document vital signs, weight, body composition measurements, and patient history information Prepare patients for provider evaluations and treatments Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection according to established protocols Process laboratory paperwork and specimen handling Perform EKGs and other clinical tasks as assigned Assist providers during patient visits and procedures as needed Maintain inventory and stock clinical supplies Follow all clinical policies, safety standards, and HIPAA requirements Qualifications Required Phlebotomy experience required Strong customer service and patient communication skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with computers and data entry Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism Dependable, punctual and self-motivated Professional appearance and demeanor Preferred Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical, wellness, primary care, hormone therapy, weight loss or aesthetic practice Medical Assistant certification Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient histories Experience working with EMR systems and medical documentation Experience in medical weight loss, hormone replacement therapy, wellness medicine, longevity medicine or aesthetics Experience with membership-based medical practices Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is energetic, outgoing, professional and highly organized. Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$19-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Employee discounts on wellness and aesthetic services Supportive team environment Opportunity for professional growth within a rapidly expanding wellness practice Part-Time 25-30 hours per week Typical schedule includes Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM.
