Audiology Assistant & Patient Care Coordinator Reports To:

Full Time Position Summary:
The Audiology Assistant & Patient Care Coordinator plays a pivotal role in providing clinical support to licensed Audiologists while ensuring a seamless patient experience and maintaining the professionalism of the clinic environment. This dual role requires a blend of clinical expertise, administrative proficiency, and strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Clinical Support:
○ Conduct basic diagnostic hearing evaluations on patients aged 5 and above under direct supervision of Audiologists. ○ Provide follow-up care for hearing aid patients including clean and checks, basic repairs, and patient education on device use. ○ Assist in transitioning patients into discussions regarding amplification options based on test results. ○ Notify supervising Audiologists or Physicians of any issues related to patient care, equipment, or supplies. 2.
Administrative Duties:
○ Coordinate all patient scheduling needs effectively. ○ Manage electronic patient records and ensure accurate data entry. ○ Perform various clerical tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining office equipment, and ordering supplies. ○ Document clinical activities accurately in patient charts and referral notes, ensuring compliance with regulations. 3.
Patient Care and Coordination:
○ Create a welcoming and respectful environment for patients, visitors, and vendors. ○ Address commonly asked questions about hearing aid and hearing loss. ○ Effectively communicate with all patients and visitors, including those who are hearing impaired. ○ Manage day-to-day operational procedures according to clinic expectations. 4.
Additional Responsibilities:
○ Maintain confidentiality of patient and clinic information. ○ Uphold professional standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues. ○ Assist in the growth of the practice by maintaining current marketing and advertising activities. ○ Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assisting program preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Prior experience in audiology or otolaryngology settings preferred.
  • Proficiency in using audiology diagnostic equipment and office software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation, maintain a valid State Driver's License and appropriate vehicle insurance.
