The Patient Services Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a welcoming and professional environment. They are responsible for efficiently managing the front desk operations, ensuring smooth patient flow, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the overall efficiency of the healthcare facility. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff. Assist patients with completing insurance and permission to treat/privacy forms, answer their questions, and provide comfort by addressing their concerns and easing any anxieties. Assist patients with the self-service check-in process and encourage them to use the system for a smoother and more efficient experience. Confirm patient has been checked into the EMR system, verify and update all demographic information in accordance with internal MDS policies. Collect all copayments, coinsurances, and patient balances, and collaborate with the financial counselor as needed. Collect, receive, and scan disability forms, medical charts, reports, and correspondence. Review and audit the fax batch, then distribute medical records (such as referrals, reports, and records) into the correct patient chart. Demonstrates accountability by effectively utilizing appropriate resources and channels to resolve issues, while consistently meeting performance standards and adhering to the guidelines and expectations set by the department and TOA. Balance daily collections and the day sheet, ensuring accuracy, and submit to the business office. Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality. Consistently maintains courteous, professional, and clear verbal communication with both phone and in-person interactions, while ensuring written communication is accurate, complete, and professional in appearance, whether through word processing or email. Demonstrates a strong work ethic by efficiently completing all tasks as required, while effectively managing time to ensure smooth workflow without disrupting the performance of others. Filing, Scanning, Copying, Faxing Maintain a clean and organized reception area. Communicating with supervisors, peers, or subordinates. Performing for or working directly with the public. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Frequently standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. Ability to pull, lift, carry, and push greater than 50lbs repetitively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
Qualification Years of Experience:
1+ years in a relevant healthcare or medical administrative role is preferred.
