Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) - Clinical Supervisor in Virginia /Maryland Location:
Herndon VA/ Sterling VA / Frederick MD/ Clinic, Home, and Community-Based Services Work Schedule Full-time position. o Monday through Friday o Weekends as needed Services may be provided in clinic, home, community, and through up to 50% telehealth when clinically appropriate. Schedule may include a mix of daytime and after-school hours depending on client needs. We are looking for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team as a Clinical Supervisor. This role is ideal for someone who is not only passionate about high-quality clinical care, but also enjoys mentoring behavior technicians, partnering with families, and helping children make progress in everyday settings. About the Role As a Clinical Supervisor, you will oversee the clinical care of a caseload of clients and provide ongoing supervision and support to behavior technicians and other direct staff. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, monitoring client progress, and ensuring that services are delivered with fidelity and compassion. What You'll Do Clinical Responsibilities Conduct initial and ongoing behavioral assessments, including functional behavior assessments when appropriate, to better understand each client's strengths and needs. Develop individualized treatment plans, skill acquisition goals, and behavior intervention strategies that are meaningful, practical, and responsive to each client's progress. Review client data regularly and use clinical judgment to make thoughtful treatment decisions that support effective and medically necessary care. Provide direct and indirect supervision, guidance, and support to Behavior Technicians to help ensure services are delivered accurately, ethically, and with consistency. Hold regular supervision meetings with Behavior Technicians to review client progress, provide feedback, strengthen clinical implementation, and address challenges as they arise. Monitor client progress closely and adjust goals, programs, and intervention strategies as needed to promote continued growth and success. Provide family training and caregiver support as outlined in treatment plans, with a focus on collaboration, respect, and practical strategies for everyday life. Complete re-assessments, progress reports, treatment plan updates, and other required clinical documentation in a timely and organized manner. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records throughout the full course of services, from intake through discharge. Ensure compliance with BACB standards, payer requirements, HIPAA, and IABS policies and procedures. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and community providers to support coordinated, compassionate, and comprehensive care. Maintain a weekly billable caseload in alignment with full-time role expectations and organizational needs. Supervision & Team Support Provide regular field supervision, modeling, coaching, and performance feedback to RBTs/BTs. Support onboarding and ongoing development of direct staff. Collaborate with other BCBAs, clinical leaders, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care. Help foster a supportive, respectful, and learning-focused environment for team members. Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and other clinical discussions. Family Collaboration Build strong, professional relationships with caregivers and families. Provide parent/caregiver training that is practical, respectful, and individualized to the family's needs. Communicate clearly with families regarding treatment progress, goals, and recommendations. Support generalization of skills across home, clinic, school, and community settings when appropriate. Qualifications Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing. Current Virginia Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) credential/ Maryland Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), or ability to obtain and maintain licensure as required. Experience providing ABA services to children with autism and related developmental needs. Experience supervising RBTs/BTs and overseeing clinical programming. Strong knowledge of ABA principles, behavior assessment, treatment planning, parent training, and ethical standards. Ability to design and implement individualized behavior support plans and skill acquisition programs. Ability to collect, analyze, graph, and interpret clinical data to guide treatment decisions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and interdisciplinary team members. Ability to supervise, coach, and support behavior technicians in a professional and constructive manner. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and stay organized in a clinical setting. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for supervision and service-related responsibilities, as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience working across clinic, home, and community settings. Experience with early intervention and school-age populations. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus. Experience with insurance-based ABA services and documentation requirements. Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills. Ability to provide effective training and support to staff, families, and clients. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to move between service locations, including clinic, home, and community settings. Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, bend, or move quickly as needed in response to client behavior.
