Norwich Regional Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate and engaged Veterinary Patient Care Coordinator / Veterinary Assistant to join our small but mighty team. Why Our Team Loves Working Here Four-day work week with a floating weekday off Monday through Friday schedule with no Saturdays Supportive team that cares deeply about quality of life and well-being Small, collaborative hospital environment Meaningful relationships with clients and patients Opportunities to learn both front-line client care and clinical support skills Competitive compensation and staff discounts on care What You'll Do Serve as a first point of contact for clients in person and over the phone Respond to client communications with compassion and professionalism Schedule appointments and help manage the hospital calendar Request medical records and coordinate referrals with other hospitals Manage client accounts and accurately document communications Prepare estimates and discuss financial commitments with clients Build rapport and long-term relationships with clients and pets Assist in animal examinations and treatments Monitor and comfort patients before and after procedures Prepare and clean exam rooms, equipment, and surgical tools Administer medications and collect lab samples as directed Educate clients on pet care, nutrition, and preventive medicine Maintain accurate patient records What Our Veterinary Patient Care Coordinator / Veterinary Assistants Bring High school diploma or equivalent Excellent administrative, phone, organizational, and time management skills Strong computer skills and comfort navigating software platforms Ability to discuss financial arrangements professionally Compassionate communication skills, especially with worried or emotional clients Ability to balance client needs with medical team workflow Patience, calmness, and professionalism while maintaining boundaries Experience in an animal or human medical setting preferred Positive attitude and team-first mindset Ability to multitask with attention to detail Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to ask for help when needed Passion for animal welfare and client care Benefits You Can't Beat Financial Benefits A flexible approach to compensation that reflects your skill set and future performance 401(k) matching & Roth Retirement Savings Plan Flexible Spending Account (full-time only) 529 Savings Plan Tuition Support Program (full-time only) Referral bonus program Wellness Benefits Health Insurance, including medical, dental, and vision (full-time only) Supplemental insurance, including accident, critical illness, hospital, short and long-term disability, legal plan, and employee, spouse, and child-dependent life insurance (full-time only) Up to three weeks of full pay for the birth or adoption of a child (full-time employees only; available after one year of service).
