Job Description

at State of Vermont in Waterbury, Vermont, United States Job Description Overview Coordinates the statewide activities of Emergency Medical Services education including program development, monitoring of education programs for content and quality, training, and public relations. Implements, administers and promotes a variety of programs including Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic initial training programs, Continuing Education for each of the listed certification levels, protocol updates, and other programs at sites around the State. Measure, evaluate, and improve quality of Vermont EMS education programs using variety of data sources, including data extraction from
EMS SIREN
system, direct observation of instruction, and program evaluations. Provides technical assistance to EMS agencies and Districts in planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of EMS educational programs. Supervise and evaluate EMS Instructor/Coordinators. As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 25 will be $31.54 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $49.45 per hour. Environmental Factors Duties are carried out in a variety of settings including standard office, classroom, squad buildings, hospitals, and other field sites. Considerable travel is involved for which private means of transportation must be available. Duties may require work outside of regular work schedules.
