The Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility is a therapeutic facility to help youth, age 13 and older, with co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities who have complex needs such as mental illness or substance use disorder. The Clinical Director will provide overall leadership of clinical operations for Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility for Youth (LBTCF). The facility will open with 12 beds and 108 full-time employees with potential growth to 24 beds and 196+ full-time employees. The property was designed with children and youth in mind and features accessible spaces for onsite educational services and therapies, as well as access to outdoor space. The voluntary facility will initially serve 12 youth. King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Some of what you'll do: Participate in hiring, orienting and training of facility staff and clinically supervise department staff Provide leadership, training, oversees related components program operations, service delivery, and clinical oversight in evidence-based practices at the facility Establish Psychology practice improvement initiatives and program development Track progress of these goals and alters objectives based on progress to ensure successful transitions Recommend to the Executive Officer (EO) appropriate trainings in evidence-based practices that align with the facility's mission and vision, promote safety, and improve care for youth Collaborate with executive leadership, the EO and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that appropriate patient care standards are maintained and exceeded Review aggregated data Consult with facility staff to address training, program and discipline specific needs Participate in case reviews with clinical staff for youth with emergent and/or challenging behavior and coordinates programmatic efforts to reduce the use of seclusion and restraint Provide clinical coverage to youth and carry a therapeutic caseload to meet ongoing needs of the facility Plan, organize, direct, supervise, and evaluate all clinical services provided Manage, plan, lead, and organize clinical services Ensure compliance and training needs through programs, such as utilization review, quality assurance, infection control and medication error review Collaborate with medical staff and representatives of other disciplines, planning for needs and improvements of clinical programs and their evaluation/ ongoing compliance Ensure the clinical needs of facility and transitioning youth are metRequired Education and Experience :
A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology Ability to obtain a Washington Department of Health license as a psychologist within 60 days of hire A minimum of 10 years of experience providing evidence-based treatment to children, youth or families within a residential or psychiatric setting Proficiency in evidenced based practices utilized when working with children, youth, and families Knowledge of CMS, TJC, and Washington State Licensing standards Knowledge of APA Ethical Code; ability to maintain high standards of professional integrity and to ensure such standards are maintained by facilityPsychologists Preferred:
