Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Supervisor Assistant is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Washington, serving in a collaborative role to support and enhance the supervision provided by the primary Supervisor.

This job involves the Assistant acting as an additional resource during patient encounters, working closely with the Supervisor to ensure comprehensive care.

The Assistant steps in when the Supervisor is occupied elsewhere, maintaining a consistent presence with interns during patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborative Patient Care:
Act as a key collaborator with the Supervisor during patient encounters, ensuring a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment, while respecting the Supervisor's authority over the student-patient encounter to enhance overall patient care quality.
Student Intern Support:
Accompany interns in the room with patients or in the Preview Room during non-patient times, providing guidance and support in alignment with the Supervisor's directives.
Dynamic Role Transition:
When the Supervisor enters a room where Intern I's are attending to a patient, the Assistant may be invited to transition to other treatment rooms or return to the Preview Room, following the Supervisor's discretion.
Support Supervisor's Responsibilities:
Assist in facilitating the approval of diagnoses, treatment plans, and treatment prescriptions, acknowledging the Supervisor's pivotal role in signing off and closing patient charts. Adherence to
Supervisory Authority:
Acknowledge and uphold the fact that the patient encounter is conducted under the authority of the Supervisor's acupuncture license, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Licensed Acupuncturist:
Holds a valid acupuncturist license in Washington.
Clinical Experience:
Skilled and experienced in acupuncture practice.
Communication Skills:
Good communication to work effectively with students and the primary Supervisor. Commitment to
Standards:
Dedicated to upholding professional and regulatory standards in acupuncture. This role is crucial for supporting the educational and clinical goals of our acupuncture program, creating a collaborative and enriching environment for both students and faculty.
