Job Summary As the first impression of our office, our front desk teammates are naturally friendly, energetic, and driven individuals who are detail-oriented and excellent communicators. This position is suited for an individual with strong attention to detail, outstanding ability to multitask, and passion for people, who would like to work on a team in a busy, fast-paced, successful optometry practice. Responsibilities and Duties Answer and screen incoming calls and emails from established and prospective patients Respond to emails and faxes promptly Accurately record patient demographic data into practice management software Look up and verify insurance eligibility, and be able to accurately communicate benefits with patients Schedule appointments according to doctors' schedules, clinic hours, and patient needs Basic phone triage Process and schedule referrals Patient check-in and check-out Ensure all required forms are signed and filled out properly Photocopy, scan, and upload all patient documents Collect co-pays, deductibles, and post patient payments accurately Balance nightly financials Be the main point of contact to enhance patient and medical office relationships. Provide a WOW experience. Office Skills Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, Windows, Internet navigation Accurate and efficient typing skills Knowledge of Practice Management Software is a plus Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures Knowledge of billing and insurance procedures Customer service principles and practices Working knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnostics (for optometry is a plus) Complete understanding and compliance with HIPAA Personal Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy, a positive professional attitude, and reliability Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information Ability to communicate in a fast-paced multi-office environment while effectively coping with job stress Ability to follow or provide verbal and written instructions Ability to relate to persons with diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Successfully manage interactions with challenging people Take detailed notes and documentation Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent One or more years of office experience (medical office preferred) Vision/Optical experience a plus Submit resumes in PDF.
